QESOSA Ontario
伊利沙伯中學舊生會安省分會

The 2008 AGM dinner of the QESOSA Ontario Chapter was held on January 10, 2009 at Very
Fair Seafood Cuisine Restaurant 鴻福海鮮大酒樓 in Scarborough. (Well, according to Chinese
lunar calendar, we were still in 2008.)  It was a great evening as usual to see many old faces and
new alike.

53 people attended the event this year including 10 guests from alumni associations of Kings’
College, Queen’s College and Belilios Public School.  The guests were Rebecca Kwok, Yolanda
Lee, Brenda Kwok and husband, Lawrence Lee, Nick Chan, S.L. Cheung, Eric Wong, David
Chan and C.F. Wong.

Before the dinner, all the attendees had a good time in socializing with their old friends, telling
stories of their families, their new found secrets about health and life, their trips of their life
time, their grand children, their new adventures or hobbies in their retirement life style etc.,
etc.  MC of the night Barbara Yang (1978) called the AGM in order around 7:00 pm.  After the
guests were introduced, the then President Chan Chi-Hung (1965) gave a report on past year’s
activities and presented the 2007 AGM minutes which was moved and seconded by the
members present.  This was followed by a financial report from Treasurer Roger Kwan (1978).
Then all began to enjoy our delicious Chinese gourmet dinner.

During the evening, we also had a fun quiz on Chinese idioms organized by Lee Shiu-Ki (1958).
The First Prize for those who got all the answers right within the shortest time went to our
guest table.

The evening highlight was the election of the directors of 2009.  Chan Chi-Hung announced that
James So (1967), Selwyn Chow (1961), Julie Look (1967) and Henry Lee (1961) resigned from
the Board due to various reasons.  The six board members who had completed their 2-year
term were Barbara Yang, Daniel Chow (1970), James SK Tang (1964), Jerry Liu (1968), Michael
Ngai (1968) and Nancy Tang (1965).  The voting results came back with all the six out-going
directors re-elected for another 2-year term.  Congratulations to all of them!

something. What a happy ending! Finally, photos were taken before we said good-bye to one
another. Thanks to the board of directors who had made another AGM dinner so successful
and memorable.  Hope to see all of you at the association’s 20th anniversary celebrations this
coming year.
