2012 AGM Dinner & Talk
Ivy Yan - FA 71
The QES OSA Ontario Chapter’s 2012 Annual General
Meeting and Dinner was held on October 27, 2011. A
total of 20 members and their spouses together with
special guests from Belilios Public School Alumni
Association, and Queen’s College Old Boys Association
attended this event.
It was a wet and windy evening; however, the inclement
weather did not stop the attendees from having a
wonderful time. The evening started at 6:00 PM with a talk
given by Mr. Chi Fai LAU Neville, our special speaker. Mr. Lau is a registered physiotherapist in Ontario
and Hong Kong. He is also a registered Acupuncturist . The topic of his talk was ‘Accupressure for Health’.
With his extensive experience in the area, Mr. Lau gave a very lively discussion on the topic. I am sure
everyone was enlightened by his talk.
After the singing of the Canadian national anthem and the QES school song, the AGM formally started. Ivy
Yan, president of the Association gave a quick report on the activities and other related business about the
association throughout the year. Roger, our treasurer then presented the 2012 financial report. Both the
2011 AGM meeting minutes and the 2012 financial report were approved by all the members.
Dinner started at 7:30 PM. Everyone enjoyed the delicious 10-course meal and had a wonderful time talking
and connecting with each other. In between dishes, the election of directors for 2013 was called.
Nomination forms were collected and tallied. Some directors are serving a 2-year term, and therefore will
remain on the board, while some other directors were re-elected.
The evening closed with a lucky draw with many of the attendees winning some gifts. Special thanks were
expressed to our guests, Association members, the form representatives, the directors, and the advisors
for their unrelenting efforts in coordinating, supporting and organizing this wonderful evening.
